I was ready to throw in the towel by page 15 but stuck it out. I don't think I will buy the rest of the books in the series of the writing does not improve. But, on the other side of the coin, there were a lot of touching scenes, some hot action and the plot was interesting (even if unbelievably predictable....) Still, I did read to the end without skipping bits...and I think I'll have a look at the next in the series. If you like a strong alpha male (or two...), intense action, suspense and a past that starts to catch up with them...you'll love the Men of August- starting with Marley's Choice by Lora Leigh... Unfortunately I never really connected with anyone in the book. As much as I wanted to love the characters it simply wasn't happening. I do not know how early this book falls in the author's writing career. Her words were stilted causing the emotions and dialoge of her character's in transitional scenes to seem very childish/fake. This is especially the case when the Heroes/Heroine are discussing a recent rape, then far too suddenly everyone is happy and life is good. This being said, I am still interested in reading the next book of this series. I can only hope Ms. Lynne's writing style improves with practice and experience.
