She may as well have described people in black face with the n-word. This haunted the whole book for me. 2. So it was a coincidence she met the guy at her ex's lawyer's office? Her friend didn't set it up? Why? The coincidence strains credulity, but a setup would not. Weird. 3. She thinks he may have slept with her best friend, but then she just forgets it? Double-weird. It was lazy, like it needed another read through, and the author really needs to think before she uses epithets for race or sexual orientation, or better yet, not use them at all.
